Cemetery Tour II, Friday, Sept. 25, 2009
Join historian Esley Hamilton as we visit the movers and shakers of St. Louis at their final resting place in Calvary Cemetery or Bellefontaine Cemetery. You will be amazed at the architecture, statuary and stories! Pick-ups in Alton at the Holiday Inn on Homer Adams Parkway followed by the Caseyville Township Center on Bunkum Road in Fairview Heights. Cost is $57 per person and includes minibus, escort, services of Esley, lunch at the Lemp Mansion (please state if you prefer chicken salad or a club sandwich), taxes and gratuities. Betsy Murphy escorts us through several of the historic homes in St. Louis dressed in their holiday finery! We will visit the 1821 Campbell House with most of its original furnishings; the Eugene Field House; and the Chatillon-DeMenil Mansion which began life as a four room farmhouse and is now a Greek Revival Mansion. After a delightful supper at the DeMenil Café, we will enjoy the wonderful lights of Tillis Park. Cost is $73 per person and includes motorcoach, escort, services of Betsy, entrance fees, supper, all taxes and gratuities. Deadline for reservations is Nov. 5. Pick-up points are the Holiday Inn in Alton and the Caseyville Township Center in Fairview Heights. This is an afternoon/evening trip.
