Nov. 4, 2009 – If you are looking for a new job or would like service agency information targeted specifically for veterans, then attend the Veterans Job Fair at Southwestern Illinois College.
The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10 in the SWIC Belleville Campus Varsity Gym, 2500 Carlyle Ave. The fair is open to the public, and individuals should arrive dressed to impress with plenty of copies of their résumés.
Some of the companies and organizations attending the job fair include Ameren, Avon, Christian Hospital, Convergys Corporation, Colonial Life Insurance, Edward Jones, Extra Help, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Illinois Department of Corrections, Liberty Tax, Madison County Employment and Training, Painter District Council 58, Prairie State Generating Company, Primerica Financial Services, Scott Credit Union, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, SWIC, U.S. National Park Service and Whelan Security. Service agencies attending the fair include Career Gear, Department of Veteran Affairs, Illinois Agency for the Aging, St. Clair County Veterans Assistance Commission and Vet Center.
The job fair is co-sponsored by the SWIC Career Activities and Employment Center and the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
