The Cisco Networking Academy is a comprehensive e-learning curriculum, which provides students with Internet technology skills essential in a global economy. The Networking Academy delivers online content and assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and activities, to prepare students for industry-standard certifications.

The award-winning Cisco Networking Academy at Southwestern uses a combination of hybrid or instructor-led learning with hands-on labs to teach students how to design, build and maintain computer networks for local, national and global businesses.

Southwestern Illinois College offers Cisco Networking Academy courses at the Sam Wolf Granite City and Red Bud campuses.

The SWIC Cisco Networking Academy offers:

• Small class sizes to facilitate instructor-student interaction;
• Affordable tuition at $85 per credit hour for students who live in the college’s district;
• Cisco-approved materials and online curriculum;
• Scheduling options include day, evening or hybrid classes; and
• Job placement opportunities with local companies.

Upon completion of the program, students are well prepared for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) professional certification. Steve Bushong Receives Leadership Award

Steve Bushong, Associate Professor of Network Design and Administration at Southwestern Illinois College, recently received the Cisco Networking Academy Leadership Award.

Bushong was honored at the 2009 Illinois Cisco Networking Academy Retreat in Normal, Illinois for ten years of dedicated service to the Cisco Networking Academy. more...
