High school teachers and counselors within college district 522 have resources available through the Career Mentor Alumni Plus Program.

Guest Speakers

A representative from business or industry volunteers to serve as a speaker in classrooms throughout the district. A person who addresses career and skills directly related to particular career fields.

Field Trips

For Students - Educational trips to business and industry sites enable students to observe the worksite related to their course of study and/or allow them to explore a possible future career or careers and the nature of work.

For Teachers - Educational trips to business and industry sites allow teachers to gain information on the types of occupations and the kinds of work in which their students may be involved.

Career Exploration Days

Representatives from business, industry or agencies participate in school and region-wide Career Exploration Days. Career Exploration Days are sessions where students are given information on the educational requirements, the nature of work responsibilities, and opportunities that exist in a given career field.

Workplace/Career Mentoring

Mentors work with students by informing them about the rules, norms, and expectations of the workplace and by serving as resources to students about careers.
