
Individuals who have lived in District 522 for at least 30 days prior to enrolling are considered in-district residents. Students new to SWIC and those changing from an out-of-district to an in-district address will be required to provide proof of residency within 14 days of enrolling. Residency may be validated by evidence of occupancy of a dwelling in the college district and at least one of the following showing district residency: real estate tax bill, utility receipt or driver's license.

A student who is living outside District 522, is a resident of the State of Illinois and does not attend SWIC under the terms of a joint agreement or charge-back agreement will be designated an out-of-district student and will be charged the appropriate tuition.
Out-of-district students who attend SWIC under the terms of a joint agreement between SWIC and another community college district or for whom charge-back authorization has been given by the student's home district will be charged in-district tuition.
Out-of-district students who receive training from, and are employed by, an industry within District 522 may qualify for in-district rates. The employer must complete a new form each semester.
Any student who is a resident of another state or country will be considered an out-of-state student and will be charged the appropriate tuition. International students who have been issued an I-20 to attend SWIC are not eligible for in-district tuition rates.
